Bits of Christmas (day & night)










In the mornings, the holiday decorations around the house are light and crisp with sunshine. But still, as daylight starts to fade away and dark settles over our house, I love nothing more than the romantic glow of twinkle lights, candles, and sparkle.
In January, when everything comes down, I am missing that warm glow every night.


Happy Holidays, friends.
Today is the start of my 5 day weekend, and the beginning of winning my husband back from 14 hours of school and 5 days of work a week this last semester. It will be quiet around here until the new year, and I'll be back then to say hello.

I hope you can all spend some time with the ones you love, think about the year you lived, and be inspired towards the changes you will make into the new year. See you soonish.

    Everything looks amazing Aura. I love the brown craft wrap. We have decided to do the same under our tree mixed with bows. [I blogged about the reused wrapping paper and how we made it all work this year].

    i loooooove your decorations and plants and home. something to aspire to when i have more than one room to decorate!

    that one flower, the one in the jar, with the white fluffy stuff in the middle and the pink petals.. what is that?? i brought one home from the farmers' market a while back and i want to grow some so bad!


    i agree, i hate it when the lights come down. we should create some kind of decorating tradition for the dark, lonely months of january thru march, don't you think?

    I adore the red polka dots mixed with the brown kraft paper. Kraft paper is my weakness this year. I love how simple it looks.

    Oh, and that peace plaque over your fireplace looks incredible.

    I don't want to take my lights down either :/. Your pictures are always so fun to look at! I'm glad you get your husband back from all the madness! Did he survive the Native American History class? I ended up dropping it as soon as I found out it wouldn't work for my degree at OU because it costs me at least 8 hours a week in homework alone, not to mention the time taken to drive to class twice a week!     I'm so loving brown craft paper and twine these day!

    I did our wedding invitations with brown craft paper envelopes and instead of ribbon used twine!

    I loved seeing the "today I will be happier than a bird with a french fry" print in your home. I remember seeing that somewhere online years back and loving it then. I think I need to invest in a print of it as well... :)

    I hope that you both have a wonderful day Aura, it would be great to hear about your Christmas day when your back to blogging. We are spending the day with family, and eating a roast dinner with two of my homemade cakes for afters. We dont celebrate Christmas, but im still really looking forward to the day!
