Bits of the beach....

Missing the beach magic, today.

We drove around on backroads looking for adventures with a new cd and a jumbo root beer. The cottonwood trees are shedding,
and it looks like snow in the Summertime.
Michael is changing my bike tire & then we're off for a bike ride.

Did you do anything fun, today?

I went to beach today with my daughters and my best friend... It was so peaceful and beautiful - one perfect day to be thankful for what we have in our lives...

You guys look so happy, as always:)

Spent the morning laying down at the beach. Came back to my apartment and pampered myself, then made some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and am now relaxing on my couch with a puppy and a movie.

Elizabeth- I met a baby bird this weekend! I fed it chopped up worms I dug up. MY uterus is trying to Mother EVERYTHING right now.

You ladies and your beaches! Makes me very jealous.
I did appreciate the beauty in our sea of wildflowers, though. I guess you just have to find something special about wherever you are.

what a fun little adventure!
I had my oma (grandma) favourite cousin and mum come to visit me and make a fuss of me as my birthday is tomorrow.
Oh and my chickens had a visitor of their own. a random chook apeared in my yard and then later dissapeared, back home for dinner i suppose. That was a fun suprise i must say!
Im off to a beautiful beach tomorrow

I felt a little sad today - our Blue Tit family that have nested in our bird box have flown the nest. I had grown quite attached to this little family and will really miss them from our garden. No beach days around here, chilly, grey & drizzly. :(

aura, i got my heart broken this weekend. the guy that claimed to love me lied to me. about a text. i asked him who texted him and he said his daughter and i found out later through is ex that was at the same place that he texted her and it was her that texted back.

and the beach makes me sad because a week after i had been seeing that guy he told me he had to go to the beach to work, and i found out a week or so later that he didn't work but he went to the beach and spent the entire weekend with another woman he had been seeing from his home state. he said it had already been planned and it had nothing to do with me.

i gave him another chance cause we had just seen each other a week and didn't say we were dating yet.

but now he has been lying about texts. i don't know why .

i guess i should just leave him right? lol

every time i see the beach i remember what he did to me that first weekend after we were together.

I helped my mom in the garden, and went shopping! Horrah to finally finding a pair of jeans that actually fit. Minor miracle, I think.
Sunday I ran my first 5k, I'm so proud of myself...to many 3.1 miles seems like nothing, but to me it was a major accomplishment.
Glad you had a great weekend!

hi aura! cute photos, as usual.

i came across this blog and thought of you immediately. i couldn't find an email link anywhere on your page so i'm just leaving it here. i know you have a lot of love for making old things new again and this is a whole house full of those kinds of projects: http://www.younghouselove.com/photo-gallery-2/
just thought it might be something you'd be interested in poking around!

Karen- What in the world is a chook!?

Samantha- All little baby birds have to eventually leave the nest :) Maybe you guys can put together some bird baths, houses, and food to attract different kinds of birds. My Dad spends countless pennies on bird seed, and fills his many houses every day. But they get so many beautiful birds in their yard because of it.

Anonymous- I'm really sorry to hear that. It's been my experience that when someone lies, they will continue to do so. If it has worked for them in the past, they will keep up with it. Only you know in your heart if he's worth another chance, but if it were me, he'd be out the door by now.
Even you just saying "every time I see the beach I remember what he did to me" is a really sad statement :( You don't want to go through your entire life reminded of all the bad things that he has done. The person you love should scatter themselves in happy reminders, not ones that make you upset.

Amie- That's wonderful! Any goal you set for yourself and accomplish is huge, no matter how small it might seem to someone else. Good for you, girl!

J- I actually came across that blog when I first discovered blogger! I lost it alone the way, though. Wow, their yard is pretty. Thanks for the link!

We had plans all weekend long to go kayaking and try out our new boats, however mother nature had other plans. She rained on us all week. Yesterday I took some time to finally nap for real. It's been a long time since I just listened to my body and gave in for a good 2.5 hour nap. I felt so great and was shocked I actually went to bed early. I think my body needed it.

These images are lovely! ox

Aura

I gotta say I just love the last photo of you both at the beach. Do you actually use a tripod or have the camera on the sand? (cause it's real low).

Oh by the way a 'chook' is slang for a chicken. So funny what you think everyone will understand but I think we Aussies speak another language altogether.

Hooroo (bye) ;)

I love hearing everyone's plans :)

Katyha- I have a tripod, but I don't travel with it. These were just in the sand!
chook... that's cute :)

Beautiful photos, my boys would love to jump those cliffs, I did that about 14 years ago in Greece and Turkey with a whole bunch of travelling friends. Lots of fun
