I wish everything about becoming a parent was as easy as putting together beautiful shopping lists for your little one.

We spent the day at almost a dozen stores, looking for an old antique dresser I can paint and turn into a changing table. So many wonderful treasures to look through - I could live in antique stores. Michael found a little something and said "I want to buy this for baby."
My heart is melting every day when he rubs my belly, and talks about his baby.

Next weekend we will announce what we are having, and I will show you a picture of Michael's sweet little gift.

Hello, baby. I picked out some cute things for you.

I've been following your blog for a long time, and it's wierd but I feel like you're a very good friend.. and you don't even know me :D

I know it doesn't really matter to you guys, but I can't wait to find out what you're having!
We have the first boy out of 6 grand children, one of them already our own. So gender-time is a very exciting for our family.

Good luck sweetie!

You totally just said "his" gift-is that a give away??

p.s. those outfits are pretty much nicer than anything I've got in my closet.

Aura said...

No giveaway, I'm too sneaky for a slip. We don't even call the baby him/her. It's still just baby!

"His" refers to Michael.

Ashley J- It seems like you broke the girl cycle, then :) When my sister found out what she was having Summer of 2009, we were beside ourselves waiting to know. My parents and Michael and I were camping in the Rocky Mountains, and we lost reception on our phones right around the time that she was getting out of her ultrasound! It was a terribly long wait. We had to drive about 30 minutes into a town to call her.

i LIVE for ultra sound profiles! When Violet was a few months old I stumbled across them and couldn't believe how much the profile was HER. Her lips, her nose, the way she curled her hand over her forehead, everything. i cried. But I also cried at everything at point in my life. The I love lucy episode when she told ricky she was having a baby, pampers commercials, when i burnt my grilled cheese sandwich...
aura, i cant read your blog anymore. I want another baby.ah!!

Lot of shopping and cute wardrobe :)

AURA! You're killing me with all of this cute!! Also, I am beside myself with exciting for you all to announce the sex of the little one. And I have to hand it to you... you are WAY better at keeping these things secrets than I was, ha.

I totally envision you as the type destined to be forever boy-trapped (Husband, Hunter, and all son(s)) - and at the same time I can also see it being a sweet little girl just as your grandpa does. Can you imagine your messy, dark mane and Michael's crystal blue eyes meshed into one lethally adorable little one?! I couldn't handle it. :)

Oh, I adore these outfits and toys. So cute. I need to tell too, that I can't wait to hear which one it is - even it doesnt matter :) I want those tiny shoes, my heart is melting! I wish I could send you and the family something sweet from France (if you would have p.o. box).

Shopping for baby is easy until you have to choose a pram! Well that is the stage we are at anyway and we are overwhelmed with choice. Everyone has a different idea of which is best and suddenly you have to define your lifestyle. That is if it's the same in the US as here in the UK.

I found out we are a having a boy but it was much more of a huge relief to find out that he was healthy and growing big and strong. Isn't the difference in size between 12 weeks and now amazing!

By the way really enjoy reading your blog and love your pics!

I know you don't know me :) but I follow your blog and love reading along on your adventures. Having a baby is going to be your biggest yet and I'm so happy for you! I have the most beautiful and precious (almost) 10 month old baby boy and I remember that moment when we found out if we were having a boy or a girl... so magical!

All of those are adorable! Can't wait to hear what you're having. Although, really all that matters is hearing "healthy, well-loved baby" :]

Oh man. I wish those little gray knit pantaloon overall things weren't so expensive.

Parenting is hard. The good news is, loving your child is even easier than shopping for them.

I just love when you post. Warms my heart. Blessings on that little bundle! (and man, what a fashionista (fashionistO? ha!) baby will be!)

I came over after seeing your comment on my blog, and I am so glad I did!

I am so excited for you...this is such a fun part of the journey. Putting together a nursery full of carefully picked items was one of the best parts of my pregnancy. I felt like I was decorating with true love.

If you think your heart is melting now...just wait until you see your husband holding your baby, cooing and snuggling with him/her. Your heart will melt like it never has before!

I'm going to trust your grandfather's intuition and say that it's a lovely little girl. :)

We're all going to be dying from the cuteness when the little prince(ess) arrives. By the way, I think you'll find when the baby is born that he/she looks exactly like the sonogram.

When I look at this picture of your baby girl I am drawn to the darker area above and see a cute cuddly bear hanging with her. Just me?? :) (I have a big imagination haha)

I adore your blog! I always feel a little more at peace after reading your posts.

We have no children (yet!)... my husband just looked over at the ultrasound picture and said, "Cool picture of a wolf!" :) He saw the darkest part as a wolf howling at the moon. I pointed out the face, hands, etc. and he said, "Oh! It's a baby? Cool." :) He's adorable.
