BeRightBack.

The Oklahoma wildflowers are finally in bloom, waving their white flags of a passed Spring ('11).
On these days, where the seasons start to shift, I can't bring myself to spend a second longer than I need to doing anything but my list of lazy Summer promises: watering holes, picking flowers, cut-offs, watermelon, patio nights, the hammock, bare feet, and my garden.

I will be right back. For now, I need a few more days to give proper welcome to Summer 2011.

Here's to you.

PS, Melissa over at Dear Baby is on a little break from her blog to enjoy these first sweet weeks with baby Arlo, and is featuring a few guest posts. I blogged over there, last week: Life With Elodie.

Watermelon, summertime, patio nights, warm weather...it's all wonderful. Enjoy your life and do your thing.

Life first, blog second. That's always been my mantra. We're all here whenever you are :)

"Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world." ~Ada Louise Huxtable

wonderful shots :)keep them coming

Hi, I have read your blog for about a year and I love that you are real and you keep it real. Taking time "away" from the computer is refreshing!!!

I agree--enjoy. It is one of my favorite times of the year...spent outdoors with the people I love.

Enjoy :)

Unless you've got some of your life to share, you can't blog! It's been raining here, so it looks equisite but also incredibly wet outside my window. I'm so happy that you have patio-weather, perfect for spitting watermelon seeds, walking barefoot, and tending to the garden. I'm doing all that, just in the interludes between showers.

This is exactly how I feel when summer-time rolls around. Enjoy it!

Thank you always, for sharing yourself completely with your followers! Your words are so lovely and i admire your photography. I hope to gain the courage to shoot my canon in manual mode one day! Your baby Elodie is such a little doll. I followed you over from the Bump forum and i am so glad i did. By the way, our daughters share the same birthday. Cheers! <3

Enjoy your first summer with Elodie! Can't wait to read about your adventures together.

PS, I was very excited to see that Lauren Conrad's beauty blog used one of your photos today! You're moving on up in the world ;) I will be first in line when your beautiful pictures and words inevitably make their way into a book, and I will tell everyone I know, "I 'knew' her when she was just a wee Livejournal blogger".

Ah, I just love the first few days of summer. In Florida we've been feeling like summer for days!

I was looking through your old gardening posts and you mentioned having a big collection of dresses/skirts. Where do you like to get them?
