I look @ different blogs for different things. I have my foodie blogs, design, crafty, and then there's yours. I find inspiration, peace and love in your blog. It's just so calming and peaceful! Thank you.
Picture of the man on the bike= perfect, a perfect picture. How some Okie can make someone from FL want to go to the beach so often just floors me. Way to inspire.
Laura- Thank you so much, that's a very sweet. I try to strive for things that inspire me, and bring me love & peace every day, so it's a really great compliment that you get that feeling from this space. Thanks for reading along.
Emily- Of course! I will have to check out her blog, thanks for saying hello.
Ryan- I should stomp on your foot for not going to the beach more often. How an Okie goes to the beach more times than a guy from Florida is what floors me :) If you like this bike guy, you'll love my little project with him. I'm working on it. Coming soon.
Erica- I don't mind at all! I don't have very many great secrets, though :) I do everything pretty basic. I shoot with a 5 year old Canon Rebel XT. I either use the stock lens (for most of my pictures) or my Canon EF 28-135mm lens (it has image stabilization). I only use that lens when I'm far away from my subject and need to crop in really close. I use it a lot in Colorado for wildlife, at sporting events, and on the beach when I was shooting the surfers. My next lens will be a macro, or wide angle. I'm torn :)
When I shoot these really light, airy photos, I leave my shutter open as long as possible. I adjust the colors on the scale towards whatever I want them to be. I also use natural light more than any settings I have. Back to the sun to light up what you want to be the brightest. I hope that helped a bit! I had a light bulb moment one day with one bit of advice a friend gave me on her photography: http://www.tinabassblogography.com/ She inspired me towards those really bright photos :) I normally love a good, crisp, contrasty photo...but it was time to branch out. Check out her work, it's wonderful.
I don't have a blog, so I'm not sure I'm doing this right :) I discovered your blog via a post on smile and wave and I REALLY enjoy reading your posts. Your photography is really peaceful and calming. A breath of fresh air :) -Karen
P.S. When you say you adjust the colors, do you mean your white balance in camera? Or do you do it using software? I love the color of these photos.
love love love the little 'live free' birdies:) true that life is realy simple, but we insist on making it complicated. We realy should stop doing that and relax on the beach more often instead!
hello aura. i've been reading your blog for some weeks now, but this is my first comment. i just wanted to thank you for reminding me to slow down, to simplify, to live. how easily we forget that life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated! your blog inspires me with its peacefulness. thank you :)
Beautiful pictures! Your blog is so peaceful and dreamy. You are an inspiration and have a way of bringing tranquility. When I'm really stressed I always hope that you have a new post to bring me back to earth. Thanks for sharing a bit of your peace with the rest of us!

I live far from the beach but dream of it often. I love seeing such relaxing and inspiring photography.
If you don't mind, what type of camera, lenses, settings and such you use?

These photos are simply gorgeous. The pastel colours look amazing, they blow me away.
Love the emotion and thought in these shots. I agree you need to sell them.
