Ironically Aura... I vacayed in Altus OK from Castle Rock Colorado 2 this year ( family is there...) And I was actually missing it! THey take garage sales REALLY seriously! You can swing up here anytime ...Castle Rock is lovely and smack in between Colorado Springs and THe Red Rocks area.

Oh I love Colorado too. My last post were some photos of a beautiful hike from this July...
Colorado is the one place Matt would agree to move away to...but I'm 98% sure that won't happen.
We love living in Okahoma because most of our friends and family live here. And I've resolved that nothing is better than that. Plus it makes vacations so much more wonderful to look forward to.

Mel- Thanks for the tip! We have spent the last 3 Summers there looking for home. We both know we love Colorado, we just don't have a home, yet. We checked the Colorado Springs area but the actual city is too big and the smaller towns around it didn't do it for us. We also checked the Ft. Collins area thinking it was home for sure, and it just wasn't. So far we love a handful of small mountain towns, but they're just so...tiny. We're afraid of raising kids there.
Boulder is our #1 running but it's incredibly unaffordable, so we'd be living in the suburbs. We checked out some real estate and neighborhoods in the suburban cities around it last Summer but I just don't picture myself living in the 'burbs. But then again, when you wake up to the Rocky Mountains in your backyard every morning, and a hiking/camping trip every weekend, I'm willing to put up with some suburban housewives :)
We will definitely check out Castle Rock next Summer. I just looked into it a bit and the size is nice, and it looks beautiful. I like the idea of halfway between Denver/Springs, too.
You had me at "take garage sales seriously!" haha!! Sounds like my kind of place.

Melissa- Colorado is just about the only place Michael sees in our future, with his tunnel vision. I am still considering Austin, and we're going to check out some places on the West coast over the next few years, but I have a feeling Colorado will keep pulling ahead. Friends and family are our #1 deterrent, but my parents are seriously considering a retirement in Colorado since it was always their dream to live/raise kids there. Once we found that out we started actually looking for home, there.
I agree that the people you love are the most important things in life. I love this quote: "happiness is only real when shared."

Great quote... :)

Austin - LOVE Austin too. Doesnt' even really feel like Texas. And the Mexican food. We won't move there either! Ha! Matt's already lived there and his line of work isn't available there.

Hi Aura, I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask you about my plants in my veggie garden, but they might be a little long - may I contact you another way? Thanks :)

Your blog is amazingly beautiful, and inspiring for a wannabe photographer like myself(: Do you take these photos yourself?

Dreamy photos. There's nothing I love more than running in the mountains with barefeet. And feeling so small and so big all at once.

Hi Aura! I love your photos! They're actually very inspiring. I have been wondering for a while what the layout of your blog is? I've seen others use it and I can't find it nor create it on my own. Hope you answer back! Thanks a ton!
